About Tim Ward
In 1975 I attended Cordwainers College, Mare Street, Hackney, London. and graduated in 1977
with a City and Guilds Certificate in Rural Saddlery after two years full time training.
Following which I set-up my own workshop and retail premises in Melksham, Wiltshire, which I
ran successfully until 1988 when I moved to Wales where I concentrated on Harness Making.
In 2000 I moved to West Cork with my family and carried on working with leather and specialist restoration.
During 2003 I studied for a degree in Engineering and Surveying at Cork Institute of Technology, in 2005 I was elected
to membership of The Irish Institute of Surveyors. In 2012 I started to concentrate on making bespoke Dressage Saddles.
My traditional Saddlery training, apprenticeship and experience combined with my Surveying, Engineering and design
skills give me a unique opportunity to unite new methods of collecting measurement data with
my traditional saddle making skills to produce the highest quality handmade saddles.
